This side hustle saw me through the next five years while I completed my Ph.D. When I started, I didn't know much about running a business, but today, I have five income streams. I bring in $142,000 a month from the Amazon business alone. Don't overcomplicate your productWhen I started my side hustle, I had major imposter syndrome. So before you begin any side hustle, ask yourself two key questions: What is the fundamental need that my product or service fulfills?

The team is working towards a June 30 launch deadline, and has been testing the underlying voice technology, dubbed "Remarkable Alexa," with 15,000 external customers, these people said. Internally, however, Amazon isn't satisfied with the performance of the new Remarkable Alexa yet. But the new Remarkable Alexa follows a more centralized structure, where language understanding and response generation use a single language model. The Classic Alexa team, for example, wants to protect their work by insisting on using what they built for the old Alexa, one of the people said. In addition to the subscription-based Alexa, Amazon is also working on a new Alexa product that can be used within a web browser, people familiar with the project told BI.

My brand, Hemlock Park, was born in Los Angeles during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns. More than 2,000 stores in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia now stock Hemlock Park candles. Over time, I realized it wouldn't be sustainable to run the Amazon business and oversee sourcing, manufacturing, production, and shipping. These days, Hemlock Park generates about 60% of its sales from Amazon, 30% from wholesale channels, and 10% from the Shopify store. When I was getting started, Amazon told me that there were over 5,000 candle sellers on the platform and that it would be hard to break through.

NEW YORK, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Shares of Affirm Holdings (AFRM.O) surged by nearly 25% on Thursday as strong demand for the buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) lender's services and higher interest rates underpinned quarterly results that beat analysts' estimates. The company's net loss narrowed to $171.8 million, down nearly 32% from a loss of $251.3 million a year earlier. The case is the latest example of the Federal Trade Commission cracking down on deceptive e-commerce consultancies that target consumers and fledgling online businesses. The Cresto brothers also took 35% of any profits from their "partners'" e-commerce stores, the complaint says. The suspensions left Empire's clients deeply in debt, the FTC alleged, "because Empire typically had its clients pay for inventory on credit cards." The scheme is ongoing and defrauding consumers of tens of thousands of dollars, according to the FTC. Amazon and Walmart did not immediately respond to CNBC's requests for comment.

LONDON, April 20 (Reuters) - Amazon plans to expand its business selling office supplies in Europe and internationally after the pandemic helped boost sales as companies shopped more online and looked for bulk discounts. Amazon Business' gross sales in Europe grew at a compound annual rate of 25% from 2020 to 2022, vice president Alexandre Gagnon said in an interview. In Europe, the business launched first in Germany in 2016, then Britain in the following year, followed by Italy, Spain and France in 2018. "Because businesses buy in larger quantities, the fulfilment economics are more advantageous," Gagnon said, adding that Amazon gives companies discounts for bulk orders. Amazon Business clients in the region include Siemens Gamesa, Centrica, and ABB, the company said.

In 1999, My husband Andy and I became house parents at the Milton Hershey School. The decision for us to eventually go back and become house parents was an easy one. Throughout our 15 years as house parents, we helped raise around 100 junior high- and high school-aged boys while also bringing up our two biological children. While Andy worked for the Amazon business full-time, I stayed at Milton Hershey School and wrote curriculum. Last year, we made more than $10 million in sales, and we have a team of 47 people who we can comfortably pay to run our Amazon business.
